Ask one question: is the product doing something it already promised? No — broken, regression, or silent fail — is a bug. Yes — it works, someone wants more — is a feature request. Confusing-but-claimed is a bug. “Used to work” is always a bug.
The two lists behave in opposite ways. Bugs trend to zero and sort by severity and frequency, with voting off. Feature requests never trend to zero and sort by demand, with voting on. One voting board for both quietly buries crashes under colour-scheme complaints.
