Install

The button takes you to your Feedjolt dashboard. Pick a workspace, then approve the requested Slack scopes. Slack will redirect you back when the install is complete.

If you aren't logged in, you'll land on the login page first - log in (magic link or Google) and you'll continue to the install screen automatically.

What the app does

Posts a Slack message when a new feedback post is created in any board you've connected.
Posts when a post's status changes - for example, planned -> in progress -> shipped.
Lets you map any board + event combination to any channel: every team can listen to the events that matter to them.
Threads replies under the original message so a single feedback item stays one conversation, not many.

Permissions we request

Scope	Why
`chat:write`	Post messages in the channel you select.
`chat:write.public`	Post in public channels without having to be invited first.
`channels:read`	List public channels in the channel picker.
`groups:read`	List private channels - only ones the bot is already a member of.
`channels:history`, `groups:history`	Read replies in threads we started, so two-way comment sync works.
`commands`	Reserved for slash commands (none are active yet).

We never read messages outside of threads we created. We never DM users. We never post outside the channels you map. The bot token is workspace-scoped - uninstalling revokes everything.

After install

Once connected, open Dashboard -> Integrations -> Slack in Feedjolt:

Pick channels. Select which Slack channels should receive which events. You can map multiple boards to one channel, or one board to multiple channels.
Pick events. Choose from new posts, status changes, comments, milestones.
Test. A "Send test message" button confirms the bot is reachable.

For private channels, invite the bot first: /invite @Feedjolt in Slack.

Manage or uninstall

From Slack:

Click your workspace name in Slack -> Settings & administration -> Manage apps.
Find Feedjolt and choose Remove.

From Feedjolt:

Open Dashboard -> Integrations -> Slack.
Click Disconnect.

Either path revokes our token immediately. We retain a small audit record (which channel was connected, by whom, when) for 90 days, then delete it. Channel mappings are kept so reconnecting doesn't lose your setup.

Troubleshooting

No messages appear after install. The bot needs to be in the channel. For public channels with chat:write.public we'll post anyway; for private channels, run /invite @Feedjolt first.

Messages stopped appearing. Slack may have rotated your token. Re-install from this page; channel mappings are preserved.

Wrong workspace. Each Feedjolt workspace connects to one Slack workspace. To change, disconnect first, then re-install.

Threading isn't working. Make sure the bot has channels:history (or groups:history for private channels). If you installed before these scopes were added, re-install to grant them.

Security and data handling

Bot tokens are encrypted at rest and never exposed to clients.
We don't read message content outside threads we created.
We don't store Slack user profiles, only the user IDs we need for mentions.
Data residency: your Slack token is stored in the same region as your Feedjolt workspace (EU or US).
